Sparta Kids

Many years ago, Spartans, Persians and Egyptians fought for different causes and reasons. Whereas they looked for the global conquest and fought for their freedom and honor. Only the best soldiers engaged in this battle.

The Battle

History tells that in the battle of Thermopiles, three hundreds Spartans could resist ten thousand Persians during several days. Row after row the Persians crashed against the spears and Spartan’s shields without these yielded a centimeter. In spite of the serious numerical disadvantage, Leónidas and his men had a minimum number of losses, whereas the losses of the Jerjes army - although very small in proportion to his forces - blow for the moral of his troops. During the nights, Leónidas used to say to his men: “Jerjes has many men, but no soldier”. Frustrated and impatient, Jerjes sent to the front ten thousand Immortal ones (his elite force). Whenever an Immortal one fell, another one ran to replace it, staying in the fixed amount of ten thousand men. Nevertheless, the results were the same. The Persians died and there were only hundreds left. The moral of the army decayed and the Spartans did not show fatigue signs. The battle lasted five days and the Persians were able to defeat the Spartan feared ones, but these had already delayed remarkably the Persian advance, decimating the moral of their army, causing considerable losses and giving time to the other Spartans to evacuate their cities and to prepare the defense. During this time a great army was reunited that later would bring victory in the battle field of Platea by earth and in Salamina by sea. After which the Persian aspirations to dominate the Hélade were exhausted and the Spartans stayed baptized for all time as the best soldiers!

Sparta Cup Organization

We have worked very hard organizing this event and would love everyone’s support! Having the best teams in Europe would make this event very exciting and memorable! Carles Benito, Director of Sparta Kids says: “It is a very hard game and only the authentic soldiers will be able to raise the Championship Cup”.
